Huge Love: A Unique and Playful Packaging Design

Breaking the Mold of Sanitary Napkin Packaging

Huge Love is a packaging box designed specifically for young consumers, aiming to capture their aesthetic preferences and needs. Through extensive market research, Li and Zhang discovered that young people value a fun lifestyle and appreciate simple aesthetics. They also seek individuality and are open to trying new things.

With this in mind, the design of Huge Love breaks away from the traditional packaging style of the sanitary napkin industry. It embraces a more concise and interesting approach, shifting the focus from market consistency to respecting the aesthetic standards and personal needs of young consumers.

The packaging box is made from thick cardboard combined with special paper, utilizing hot stamping and hot silver techniques for the graphics. The box opens from the top, in line with the female aesthetic, and features vibrant illustrations that create an interactive experience with the product and the woman using it.

Realizing the design required the use of special printing paper and a specific die. The dimensions of the packaging box are 75mm in width, 32mm in depth, and 80mm in height.

The Huge Love project commenced in Shenzhen in November 2018 and was completed in March 2019. Throughout the process, Li and Zhang conducted extensive market research to analyze the shortcomings of similar product packaging designs and understand consumer preferences. They also considered the capabilities and costs of printing houses to ensure the design could be manufactured effectively.

Overcoming challenges such as data analysis and cost control, Huge Love emerged as a standout packaging design that resonates with young consumers. Its unique and playful aesthetic, combined with its focus on individuality and simplicity, sets it apart from traditional sanitary napkin packaging.

Huge Love received the Iron A' Design Award in 2020, a prestigious recognition for well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This award acknowledges the integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world and providing fulfillment and positive experiences.
